This project visually exposes the reflection of how the photographer feels about the whole process of being in a monastery and leading the life of a nun. The use of the landscape images gives a metaphorical answer for such an individual choice of life. The photographer seeks for the difference in aura between analogue and digital photography.
“The Solitude” was captured on film and digital camera’s. The photographer had never used an analogue camera before and she admits seeing now a huge difference between those two tools.
Analog slows you down giving you a closer connection with the subject and keeps the whole process more exciting, building tension with anticipation the digital camera gives you freedom of seeing your results almost straight after the shutter button is released.
